Soo Jung Choi is an Associate in Jones Day. Her practice focuses on private fund formation, private equity transactions, and alternative investments. She has worked on a variety of offshore private investment funds, including private equity, hedge, hybrid, and real estate, and has advised the investment advisers to those entities.

Soo advises private investment funds on initial fund formation, complex restructurings, M&A, asset dispositions, capital raisings, and joint venture arrangements. She has advised many of Asia’s prominent hedge fund managers with strategies that include traditional long/short equity, global macro, quant, volatility, event driven, and special situations.

In addition to her private fund background, Soo has experience in internal investigations. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2015, she represented an American health care company in conducting internal investigations of its branches in Korea regarding allegations of creating secret funds.

Soo is a member of Jones Day’s Korea Practice team and maintains a network of relationships with Korean law firms in Seoul.
