Kara Byun is an investment director in HSBC’s Strategic Innovation Investments team, investing in financial technology for the benefit of the bank.

Kara Byun was previously a director in the equity structured products group at HSBC Global Markets, Hong Kong. She ran Asia-Pacific the convertible bond trading book and structured equity financing book.

Prior to HSBC, Kara was a trader at Goldman Sachs Asia, and credit analyst and portfolio manager, covering Europe and Asia, at hedge funds in New York and Hong Kong.
