Hong Kong has had a territorial tax system since taxes on income were first introduced in the 1940s and source of profits remains one of the most contentious tax issues in Hong Kong.  In recent years, tax professionals and taxpayers may have experienced a different approach from the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) with respect to offshore claims.  The purpose of this seminar is to provide an overview on the offshore tax regime in Hong Kong, share with participants some practical tactics and methods in resolving offshore claim disputes with the IRD and tips for handling offshore claims under IRD tax field audit and investigation.
