PE Funds: The Journey

The alternative investment industry in Asia has been in a phase of constant growth over the last few years, particularly with respect to private equity funds.  A significant majority of PE Funds in Asia are Cayman Islands entities.  As such the structuring, set up, operation and eventual dissolution of these products are heavily impacted  by Cayman Islands law.  In this course we will explore the life cycle of a PE fund, from the initial structuring decisions, to formation, key features, documentation and major Cayman legal and regulatory issues.  We will also talk through some of the challenges faced by funds and managers over the last few years.  This will include case studies of funds in crisis, or that have been forced to adapt to a complex and changing environment.
