Courses
How can I search a course via your website?

Answer:

There are several ways to search for courses:

1.

Search "by categories" - Courses are sorted into different categories according to the nature of the topics. Click on "by categories" and all courses within that category will show up.

2.
Search "by date" - Courses are categorized according to the month it is held. Click on "by date", and then the desired "month", all courses held in that month will then show up.
3.
Search "by calendar" - This is similar to the "by date" search except that it is in a calendar form.
4.
Search "by keywords" - Simply type a keyword and a list of related courses or speakers will then show up.

How can I register/book a course?

Answer:

There are several ways to register/book a course:
1.
Via our website - you can first select the course you would like to register. Click "Register Now" and complete the registration form and submit online.
(remarks: Online registration is for members only. To become one of our member, click here to register.)
2.
By email- you may email us at registration@courses-seminars.com stating the course name and course code with your contact information.
3. By mail - you may complete the registration form in our course brochure or any individual course pamphlets and then mail it back to us together with the payment.
4. By fax - you may complete the registration form in out course brochure or any individual course pamphlets and fax it back to us at 2526-3312.

How do I know if my registration has been accepted?

Answer:


We will reserve a seat for you after we have received your registration form submitted via our website, by mail or by fax. However, your seat will only be confirmed after you have paid for the course. Upon our receipt of your payment, we will then send you a confirmation by fax. We will not inform you of your registration status unless the course you have registered is already fully booked.

What if a course is already fully booked?

Answer:


We will notify you by phone and will put you on our waiting list for the course. If there is any cancellation before the course, we will notify you immediately.

How can I obtain a course brochure?

Answer:


Course brochures are available to view and print online, please see the specific course for details. Alternatively, if you prefer to receive the brochure regularly in mail, please send us your mailing information and we will add you onto our mailing list.

What methods of payment does C&S accept ?

Answer:


We accept payment by cheques or cash. You can also direct transfer your payment to our HSBC account (Account No.: 102-437431-001). Please fax us back the deposit slip for reference after such transfer has been made.

Is there any discount package offer?

Answer:


We currently offer 2 discount packages - Individual Discount Packages ("IDP") and Organization Discount Packages ("ODP"). However, IDP and ODP can only be used for our regular courses and not executive courses and conferences. Please click here for more details.

We also offer separate discounts on individual courses. You may note on the fees section for each course or "Special Announcements" on our homepage.

How do I cancel my course?

Answer:


You must notify us in writing at least 3 business hours before the course commences to:
(i) where course fees have not been paid, cancel the registration;
(ii) where course fees have been paid, arrange for fees paid to be transferred to another course within a year of the course or for a replacement person to attend the course without extra charge.

Otherwise, course fees will remain payable in full.

Can I cancel a course and get a full refund?

Answer:


Yes, only if the course is cancelled or the course nature has been changed. Any request on refund will only be accepted if it is made before the course date. Otherwise, course fees paid can only be transferred to another course within a year of the course or for a replacement person to attend the course without extra charge.

Refund policy applies differently to our conferences and executive courses. For more details, please refer to conferences and executive courses section.

I just completed a course. When will I recieve my certificate? What do I do if i don't recieve it?

Answer:


Upon our receipt of an administration fee of HK$20 per certificate, we will send you the certificate by mail within 2 weeks of a course. You may pay the admin fee together with the course fee before attending a course, or pay the admin fee anytime after the course. If you do not receive it after 2 weeks, please call us at 2869-7908 to check the status. Please also note that we only issue the certificate if you have both signed in and out.

What is the dress code during the course ?

There is no restriction on the dress code. However, we do appreciate if delegates will be smart casual when attending our conferences.

CPD Law
What is CPD Law?

Answer:


CPD Law is the "Continuing Professional Development" scheme for members of The Law Society of Hong Kong. It is mandatory and all solicitors who hold a practicing certificate are required to obtain 15 CPD points from the period of 1 November to 31 October of the next year.

How do I obtain CPD points?

Answer:


As an accredited provider of The Law Society of Hong Kong, all of our courses are officially accredited by the Society. Please remember to bring along your Membership Identity Card for recording your in and out time.

Please also note that the Law Society has revised the attendance policy with effect from 1 November 2005 as follows:

For courses of less than 60 minutes in duration:
If you are absent for any period during the course, including late arrivals or early departures, you will not recieve any CPD points for that course.

For courses of 60 minutes or more in duration:
The Law Society allows a 10 minute grace period of either late arrival or early departure (but not both in the same course) without deduction of any CPD points. However, if you are absent during the course apart from scheduled breaks, you will not recieve any CPD points for that course.

For courses of 3 hours or more but less than 6 hours in duration:
(i) 1 CPD point will be deducted for any late arrival or early departure beyond the 10 minutes' grace period of up to 30 minutes from the commencement of the course.
(ii) If you arrive late or leave early for more than 30 minutes or absent during the course apart from scheduled breaks, you will not recieve any CPD points for that course.
If you arrive late and leave early in the same course, the grace period or partial award of CPD points will not apply. In such case, no CPD points will be awarded for that course.

CPT SFC
What is CPT SFC?

Answer:


CPT SFC is the "Continuous Professional Training" programme for licensees under the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong ("SFC"). All licensees registered under the SFC are required to obtain 5 CPT hours fro each of their license by the end of each year. Please refer to the Guidelines on Continous Professional Training of the SFC.

How do I obtain CPT hourse from courses organized by Courses & Seminars Limited?

Answer:


Our courses can fulfil CPT requirements. The SFC has advised that although formal endorsement will not be given for the training we provide, it does not mean that the training programmes we organize do not meet the CPT purpose. You should note that your employer, as the corporate licensee of your SFC registration, is responsible for detemining whether our courses or any training course satisfy CPT requirements i.e. that the training you recieve are of appropriate standard and relevance to your maintaining and enhancing the technical knowledge and professional expertise. Please check with your employer before registering our courses. Any documentary evidence such as certificates of attendance ($20 each upon request) should be kept for a minimum of 3 years and the SFC may request you/your company to provide same for supporting your CPT activities.


Courses & Seminars Limited does not warrant that the attendance of our courses would automatically be recognized by the SFC as fulfilling your CPT requirements.

What is CE IFPHK?

Answer:


CE IFPHK is the "Continuing Education" requirements for members of Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong ("IFPHK"). All Certified Financial Planners ("CFP") registered under IFPHK are required to obtain 15 CE credits every year. Please refer to IFPHK (www.ifphk.org) for more details.

How do I obtain CE credits from courses organized by Courses & Seminars Limited for CE IFPHK purpose?

Answer:


Courses which mark “CE IFPHK” are formally accredited by IFPHK. Please note that you will need to attend the WHOLE course in order to obtain the CE IFPHK credits. Please make sure that you sign in and sign out as evidence of attendance. Any documentary evidence such as certificates of attendance ($20 each upon request) should be kept for a minimum of 2 years and the IFPHK may request you/your company to provide same for supporting your CE activities. Please refer to IFPHK for more details

As HKICPA approve / accredit all courses which are accredited by The Law Society of Hong Kong, our courses should be able to claim for CPD points of HKICPA.  Please make sure that you sign in and sign out as evidence of attendance.  You may be required to submit any documentary evidence such as certificates of attendance ($20 each) upon request from HKICPA.

Can I cancel an executive course and get a full refund ?

Answer:


A 100% refund (less HK$150 handling fee per delegate) of the course fee will be given for cancellations, written notice of which must reach our office at least 7 days before the course date. A 50% refund will be given if cancellation notice is recieved between 2-3 days before the course date. No refund will be given for cancellations received within 2 days before the course date.

Can I cancel a conference and get a full refund ?

Answer:


A 100% refund (less HK$300 handling fee per participant) of the conference fee will be given for cancellations, written notice of which must reach our office at least 14 days before the conference date. A 50% refund will be given if cancellation notice is received between 7-13 days before the conference date. No refund will be given for cancellations received within 7 days before the conference date.
